"The Day After Tomorrow"
The first solo exhibition in Sydney in over a decade by renowned Chinese-Australian artist Shen Shaomin features hyper-realistic sculptures of animals presented in mounds of salt. These creatures enact a critical approach to human society to articulate a world in flux and dramatise the impact of human evolution and culture. Barrisol was asked to co-sponsor the event and provide a perfect mirrored wall behind one of the sculptures, the 7 x 2.7mtr gloss black wall reflects beautifully the two tonne of salt that covered the floor and the life like silicone sculpture of an elderly lady.
